Anti-Dandruff Shampoo in Morocco: KIN Caspiselen vs Vichy Dercos DS

KIN Caspiselen at 110 MAD or Vichy Dercos DS at 155 MAD: active ingredients, how often to use them and which scalp each suits, for dandruff care in Morocco.

Dandruff has a knack for showing up exactly when you dress dark: a suit for a job interview in Casablanca, a black abaya for a wedding, a navy shirt at the office. And it rarely comes alone; the itching usually follows.

MYF carries two pharmacy treatment shampoos for this: KIN Caspiselen and Vichy Dercos Anti-Dandruff DS. They look alike on paper, but they are not used the same way. This guide compares their active ingredients, how often to use them and which scalp each is made for, then adds the lengths treatment that goes with them.

What they share: both are built on selenium. The difference is in what surrounds it, and in how you use them.

KIN Caspiselen: the course treatment, fairly priced

Caspiselen is a pharmacy anti-dandruff treatment from KIN, a Barcelona laboratory. The formula is built on 1% selenium sulfide, which works on flakes and the scalp itching that comes with them. Around the active, gentle cleansing agents and conditioners give the hair back its vitality, shine and softness, so a treatment course doesn't cost you straw-like hair.

The instructions are specific, and worth following:

  • Shake the bottle, then apply to thoroughly wet hair.
  • Massage the scalp with your fingertips for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Three to four washes a week for four weeks, alternating with your usual shampoo.
  • External use only; avoid contact with the eyes.

That is a course rhythm: intensive, time-limited, and designed to sit between gentle washes on the other days.

Who is it for? People who wash their hair often (sport, heat, a motorbike helmet), who want a clear, targeted treatment, and for whom price matters: at 110 MAD it is the more affordable of the two.

Vichy Dercos DS: for sensitive scalps and dry hair

Dercos Anti-Dandruff DS is the treatment shampoo of Vichy's Dercos Technique line. It pairs selenium disulfide with salicylic acid to reduce visible flakes and soothe itching. The product page highlights a microbiome technology that rebalances a sensitive scalp, and a six-week anti-recurrence action. Meanwhile the formula nourishes dry hair and gives it back its softness. This version is explicitly for dry hair.

How to use it:

  • Apply to wet hair, spreading it over the whole scalp.
  • Massage in, leave on for two to three minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Two to three times a week for a month, then once a week to maintain.
  • External use only; avoid contact with the eyes.

Who is it for? Dry hair that doesn't take well to frequent washing, scalps that feel tight or react easily, and anyone who wants a maintenance routine after the initial phase rather than a course that simply stops. At 155 MAD it costs 45 MAD more than KIN.

Contact time matters

A treatment shampoo rinsed out after ten seconds barely does anything. With KIN, really massage for a few minutes; with Dercos DS, give it two to three minutes before rinsing. It is the step most people skip.

Which one should you choose?

  • Dry hair, sensitive scalp: Vichy Dercos DS. It is the version designed for that profile, and the weekly maintenance step keeps you on track after the first month.
  • No particular dryness, frequent washing: KIN Caspiselen. The four-week course fits naturally into a routine where you wash almost daily, alternating with your usual shampoo.
  • Tight budget: KIN, at 110 MAD for 200 ml.
  • You want a plan after the course: Dercos DS, whose instructions explicitly include a maintenance phase.

Either way the rule is the same: stick to the stated duration instead of giving up after three washes, and don't use both at once.

When to see a dermatologist

An anti-dandruff shampoo treats a common discomfort; it does not replace a diagnosis. If flakes or itching persist beyond the recommended period, if the scalp turns red, weeps, forms patches or becomes painful, or if hair loss increases, see a dermatologist or ask your pharmacist. The same goes for any reaction to the product: stop using it.

The lengths companion: Shiseido Fino Premium Touch

An anti-dandruff treatment takes care of the scalp. The lengths have different problems: colour, straighteners, blow-drying. That is where the Fino Premium Touch hair mask comes in, the hair line from Shiseido.

Its formula brings together seven treatment essences, including royal jelly EX, squalane, trehalose and PCA, which sink into fibre worn down by colour and heat and give it back its softness and shine from the first use. The texture is rich, yet leaves the hair dense without weighing it down.

What makes it work alongside an anti-dandruff course is the way you apply it:

  • After shampooing, towel-dry the hair.
  • Work a walnut-sized amount through the lengths and ends, avoiding the roots.
  • Leave on for one minute, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Once or twice a week, alternating with your usual conditioner.

The shampoo treats the scalp, the mask nourishes the lengths, and they don't get in each other's way because the mask stays clear of the roots. The 230 g jar gives around twenty uses, for 270 MAD.

A typical routine

Treatment day: anti-dandruff shampoo (massage or contact time depending on the product), rinse, then the Fino mask on the lengths once or twice a week. Other days: your usual gentle shampoo and conditioner.

FAQ

Can I use these shampoos every day? That is not what the instructions say. KIN Caspiselen is used three to four times a week for four weeks, alternating with a daily shampoo. Dercos DS is used two to three times a week for a month, then once a week.

Are they for men and women? Yes, both shampoos and the Fino mask are unisex.

Does the Fino mask treat dandruff? No. It cares for the lengths and ends and is applied away from the roots. It complements the treatment; it doesn't replace it.

What if the dandruff comes back? Dercos DS includes a once-a-week maintenance phase. If the problem returns despite correct use, or comes with redness and patches, it is time to see a dermatologist.

Where to start

If your scalp is sensitive and your hair dry, start with Vichy Dercos DS (155 MAD) and complete the full month before moving to maintenance. If your hair isn't particularly dry and you want a simple, affordable course, go for KIN Caspiselen (110 MAD). Either way, add the Fino mask if your lengths are worn from colour or heat.
