In Morocco, say "Dolce & Gabbana" and most people think Light Blue first. It is one of the most searched fragrance names in the country, and for good reason: few designer fragrances handle an August in Marrakech or a humid day on the Casablanca corniche as well.

Five out of six are rated moderate: D&G makes easy-to-wear fragrances that get noticed for their character rather than their volume. Only Devotion Intense steps up a level.
Light Blue for women or Light Blue Intense for men: don't mix them up
This is the most common mix-up: same name, same freshness, but two very different fragrances.
Light Blue (women, 2001) is the classic. Sicilian cedar, apple and bluebell on top, jasmine, white rose and bamboo in the heart, citrus wood, amber and musk in the base. The crisp apple and the bamboo give it that sea-air, clean-linen feel. No sugar, no heaviness: it's the fragrance you wear all summer without thinking about it.
Light Blue Intense (men, 2017) is built differently. Lemon, blood orange and grapefruit on the opening, juniper, sage and pepper in the heart, musk, sandalwood and vetiver in the base. More bitter, more aromatic, more "skin after the beach". Where the feminine is floral and fruity, the masculine is zesty and woody.
Check the gender before ordering
At MYF, Light Blue is the women's version and Light Blue Intense the men's. If you're buying either as a gift, check the product page: the bottles look alike, the fragrances don't.

K by Dolce & Gabbana EDP Intense: the office
K EDP Intense (2020) bridges fresh and warm. Blood orange, juniper berries, cardamom and lemon on top, fig nectar, lavender, geranium and clary sage in the heart, cedarwood, patchouli, vetiver and nagarmotha in the base. The creamy fig rounds off the citrus, and the woody base carries the day. We list it for daily and office wear: the fragrance you put on at 8 a.m. in Rabat that still smells clean by evening without ever bothering anyone in a meeting. 140 MAD a decant, 1,400 MAD a bottle.
The One EDP: the evening
The One EDP (2008) is the house's warmest men's fragrance. Grapefruit, coriander and basil on the opening, cardamom, ginger and orange blossom in the heart, then tobacco, cedar and ambergris in the base. Tobacco and spice give it an elegant, slightly retro feel that works on a date as well as at the office in winter. At noon in high summer it's too much; for a dinner, a Ramadan evening or a wedding in the cooler months, it's the one.

L'Impératrice: fruity on a budget
L'Impératrice (2023) is the surprise of the range. Kiwi, rhubarb and pink pepper on top, water jasmine, water lily and rose in the heart, sandalwood, musk and cashmere wood in the base. Tart, watery and very bright: a summer fragrance that leans on green fruit rather than citrus. Above all, it's the most affordable D&G in the catalogue — 650 MAD a bottle, 100 MAD a decant, nearly half the price of a Light Blue bottle.
L’Impératrice in a pack
L'Impératrice also comes in the Pack Femme Florale Prestige, alongside Jean Paul Gaultier's La Belle: two 10ml decants for 240 MAD. One fresh and fruity, one gourmand, to cover day and night.
Devotion Intense: evenings, and the longest-lasting
Devotion Intense (2017), an eau de parfum intense, stands apart. Lemon and orange on top, gardenia and jasmine in the heart, vanilla and sandalwood in the base. White florals on a creamy vanilla base, it's the only D&G in the catalogue rated strong for performance, and the only one made for dressed-up occasions. For a wedding or a dinner, it's the house's obvious choice. 165 MAD a decant, 1,550 MAD a bottle.
Summer versus evening: the real dividing line
Rather than men versus women, the D&G range reads better by season:
- Summer, heat, daytime: Light Blue (women), Light Blue Intense (men), L'Impératrice (women). Citrus, apple, kiwi, light woods, musk. They breathe in the heat and don't turn.
- Year-round, office: K EDP Intense. Fresh opening, woody base.
- Evening, winter, occasions: The One EDP (men), Devotion Intense (women). Tobacco and spice on one side, gardenia and vanilla on the other.
