Solid musk cubes: what they're for and how to use them
The Ibraheem Al Qurashi solid musk cube explained: three scents, 70 MAD per cube sold individually, where to place it, how long it scents, and how to pair it with a fragrance.

It isn't a perfume. It's a scented object: a small cube of solid musk you put somewhere and forget about, which scents the space around it for weeks. In the Gulf it's been an everyday gesture for generations; in Morocco, people increasingly ask us where to find them.
MYF carries the cubes made by the Saudi house Ibraheem Al Qurashi, in three scents, 70 MAD per cube, sold one at a time.
How it works
Solid musk is not a spray, not a candle, not a chemical air freshener. It's a compacted scented paste: it doesn't burn, doesn't leak, doesn't stain, and needs no socket and no flame. Left in the open it diffuses slowly — a little stronger in the heat, quieter in winter.
Sold by the cube, not by the box
The house ships these eight to a box. We break the box: you buy one cube at a time, at 70 MAD, and you get to try a scent without committing to eight.
The three scents
- White musk — the house's original musk. Soft, discreet, clean. The one to take if you're undecided.
- Powder — a powdery, cottony musk, very "clean linen". The best fit for a wardrobe.
- Pomegranate — Abaq — a fruitier, livelier musk that reads clearly in a car or a bag.
Where to put it
Four placements work particularly well.
| Placement | What you get |
|---|---|
| Drawer or wardrobe | Linen comes out already scented — the original use |
| Handbag, suitcase | A quiet trail released each time you open it |
| Car | The best alternative to supermarket air fresheners |
| Office, hallway, dressing room | A background scent, no diffuser, no electricity |
The one trick that matters
In a wardrobe, don't leave the cube at the back of a shelf: slide it between two stacks of clothes, halfway up. Fabric holds musk far better than air does, and the effect lasts noticeably longer.
How long it lasts
Expect several weeks per cube in an enclosed space — a drawer, a wardrobe, a glovebox. Out in a ventilated room, diffusion is weaker and shorter: solid musk likes small, closed volumes. When the scent fades, scratch the surface of the cube lightly to revive diffusion before replacing it.
Cube or perfume? Both, really
Two of the scents also exist as sprayable perfumes in the Ibraq range, which allows a fairly rare pairing: the same signature on your skin and in your wardrobe.

Powder Musk by Ibraq
Rose, jasmine, orris and vanilla over a powdery base — the sprayable version of the Powder cube, 10ml decant at 70 MAD.
Linen scented with the Powder cube, skin scented with Powder Musk: the combination carries all day without ever pushing. Same logic with pomegranate and Abaq Pomegranate Musk.
Questions we get asked
Will it stain clothes? No, as long as the cube isn't crushed against light fabric. Leave it in its original wrapper or set it on a small tray.
Can I put it on skin? It isn't designed for that. For skin, take the matching perfume.
Is it strong? No. Diffusion is steady and low — the opposite of a room spray.
Does it make a good gift? Yes, and at 70 MAD it's the ideal add-on gift: two or three cubes in different scents make a complete present.
